The University of Wisconsin System offers strict definitions of under-represented American racial and ethnic minorities. While we experience globalization world- wide, Global and Ethnic Studies have remained separate categories. This separation poses unique challenges while designing honors courses which study transnational developments like the racialization of Arab and Muslim Americans after 9/11.
