The Role of Rhetoric in Music of the Baroque

This presentation is an exploration of how composers of the Baroque Era applied the concept of rhetoric to the compositional process, for the purpose of using instrumental music as a means of communication. This approach essentially allowed for music to become the emotionally-charged medium for expression that it is today.
