Feminism in countries emerging from Soviet rule developed differently than in the West and often falls victim to a hegemony of Western feminist thought. Recognizing these differences and labeling feminist theory in the Eastern bloc as "Other" will not do when examining such radical groups as FEMEN, Ukraine's topless "sextremists."
